From Seattle “Just Two Right Turns”
To get to Wilson Ranch, choose one of three scenic mountain pass highways: Interstate 90 (Snoqualmie Pass), Highway 2 (Stevens Pass) or State Route 20, the beautiful North Cascades Scenic Highway through North Cascades National Park. Passing through the spectacular scenery of the Cascade Mountains will help you ease into the total relaxation you will experience when you arrive. Note: Washington and Rainy Passes on Highway 20 are closed approximately from late November through mid-April.

Directions From The West (May Through Mid-November)
This route follows the North Cascades Scenic Highway. From Seattle take I-5 North and exit #208 for State Route #530 to Darrington. From Darrington you stay on #530 and take the exit for State Route #20 East. Stay on SR20 until you have gone up and over the pass, and after descending to the valley floor, continue until you see a blue Dept. of Transportation sign that has “Freestone Inn Next Right” printed on it. A quarter mile further is our driveway on your right. Follow the driveway signs to the main building and Freestone Inn registration. (Driving time is about 3.5 hours. Note: Washington and Rainy Passes of Highway 20 are closed in the winter).
Directions From The West (Mid-November Through April)
From Seattle take I-5 North and exit for Highway 2 – Stevens Pass (In Everett) or take the I-90 east (in Seattle) to Snoqualmie Pass take exit for Highway 970 at Cle Elum, then follow directions to Highway 97 Blewett Pass. Before you reach Wenatchee, take the exit for Highway 97 North. Just before Pateros, make a left onto SR 153 (there is a DOT sign before the turn). Go straight on 153 (which becomes 20 West) through Methow, Carlton, Twisp, to Winthrop. At the 4 way stop in downtown Winthrop, turn left. Follow Highway 20 West for approximately 13.5 miles, past the Mazama junction another 1.5 mi. and our driveway is on the left hand side. There is a blue DOT sign (“Freestone Inn Next Left”) about a quarter mile from our driveway. There is also a sign at the driveway (“Freestone Inn and Cabins”). Drive time is between 4 and 5 hours.
Directions From The East
From Spokane, take Highway 2 West to Highway 97 North in Orondo. Turn right onto 97 North. Before Pateros, turn left onto Highway 153 and follow this road all the way to Winthrop. At the 4-way stop sign in Winthrop (the only one in town) turn left. This will keep you on Highway 20 West. Follow Highway 20 West for approximately 15 miles, (and past the turnoff to Mazama). There will be a blue Dept. of Transportation sign about a quarter mile from our driveway that says “Freestone Inn next left”. Follow the driveway signs to the main building and Freestone Inn registration. Driving time is approximately 4 hours.
Directions From the East Via Grand Coulee Dam
From Spokane, take Highway 2 until you reach Wilbur and then take Highway 174. Highway 174 will take you to the Dam area. Stay on Highway 174 all the way to Brewster and then take a left onto Highway 97 South. Just after Pateros turn right onto Highway 153 and follow this road to Winthrop. In Winthrop, turn left at the 4 way stop (only one in town). This will put you on Highway 20 West. Follow Highway 20 West for approximately 15 miles (go past the Mazama turnoff).There will be a blue Dept. of Transportation sign about a quarter mile from our driveway that says “Freestone Inn Next Left”. Follow the driveway signs to the main building and Freestone Inn registration. Drive time is approximately 4 hours.

Cut your driving time in half by flying directly into Wenatchee on the scheduled airline service provided by Horizon Air. Rental cars are readily available for the 90 minutes to Wilson Ranch. The quickest transport to Mazama is via charter air service which can be arranged straight from downtown Seattle into Winthrop. We will be happy to meet you at the tarmac and provide a complimentary shuttle to Wilson Ranch.
