Lake Rules

Freestone Lake is a private lake with no public access. Fishing and other aquatic activities are restricted to owners, their guests, and registered guests of the Freestone Inn. Please refer to the Fishing Guidelines listed below.

Lake Use

Two designated beaches (North Beach and South Beach) are available to residents and guests for primary entry into the lake. To keep the shoreline in good health and to prevent erosion, please avoid any other areas along the lakeshore and stick to the trail.

Fishing Guidelines

ADULTS: Single barbless hook only – Fly fishing equipment only – Catch and Release – Leave fish in water while removing hook – Do not play the fish to exhaustion (the fish’s, not yours).

KIDS 16 AND UNDER: Single barbless hook only – Any type of rod and reel – Any type of bait/lure with a single barbless hook (That would mean snipping off the other two points on a treble hook and collapsing the barb on the third) – Catch and Release – Leave fish in water while removing hook – Do not play the fish to exhaustion.

Inflatables

Over the course of the past few summers, as large inflatable devices have become popular, they have frequently been left unattended along the lake and adjoining common area. This impacts the view of the natural setting and harms the plants as they are damaged under the vinyl. Please keep this in mind and be sure inflatables are stored safely away from the shore.
